Love is just stumbling in the dark

Love isn’t blind
It’s just stumbling in the dark
Your hopes were left behind
Fate tore them apart

Love shared between
A poor servant girl and a rich noble prince
The king had spies who had seen
A meeting of lovers, on a midsummer’s eve

She was banished from the land
Hiding away in hills to the east
It was a punishment she had to withstand
Alone in the small village that had taken her in

Love isn’t blind
It’s just stumbling in the dark
Your hopes were left behind
Fate tore them apart

Long agonizing months had gone by
The prince’s heart had yet to mend
Mounting his horse, his pace was spry
He was in search of his hearts desire

He searched to the north, covered in snow
The lands scorching lands of the south
Land to the west inhabitant with nothing but crows
Exhausted, his search led him to the east

Love isn’t blind
It’s just stumbling in the dark
Your hopes were left behind
Fate tore them apart

Looking out from the small hill
A man on a horse with his back to the sun
Made his way to her until
He dismounted and picked her up in his arms.

Love isn’t blind
It’s just stumbling in the dark
Light the candle and you’ll find
Not all hope is lost.
